Russian Defense Min to build 16 infectious disease centers by May 15

MOSCOW, Mar 26 (PRIME) -- The Russian Defense Ministry will build 16 module infection hospitals by May 15, Minister Sergei Shoigu said at a government meeting on Thursday.

First construction will take place in Odintsovo, Podolsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Volgograd, Novosibirsk, Orenburg, Ulan-Ude and Ussuriysk and the launch of the hospitals is scheduled until April 30.

The second stage will take place in the Leningrad Region, Smolensk, Kaliningrad, Rostov-on-Don, Sevastopol, Omsk, Petropavlovs-Kamchatsky and Khabarovsk. The combined capacity of these centers is seen at 800 beds.

According to earlier reports, the government spending on all hospitals stands at 8.8 billion rubles.
